Judith S. Purcell, Managing Director Show-Hide Text

As an award-winning journalist, publishing entrepreneur and business communicator, Judith Purcell has a successful history of conceptualizing and implementing high-integrity communications initiatives.

In 2002, she formed Coracle Group, an organization of seasoned communications professionals, to provide high-quality advisory services to emerging and established technology organizations. Coracle has delivered strong results for clients including: Compuflex International (now part of Quovadx), ConStat, Inc., Esmertec AG, inCode (a VeriSign company), Interop Technologies, Kodiak Networks, Polaris Wireless, Prime Communications, SkyCross, Visage Mobile, Wireless Works and others.

Ms. Purcell (formerly Lockwood) was the Founding Editor of Wireless Week and RCR Wireless News. She served as Editorial Director for multiple Wireless Week publications, leading a team of reporters and editors in five U.S. offices and additional cities around the globe. During her six years at Wireless Week, the publication led the wireless business press in volume of editorial and advertising pages and was on the forefront of technology breakthroughs for news delivery. The American Society of Business Press Editors and other national groups honored the magazine with many awards for editorial excellence and investigative reporting.

Earlier, Ms. Purcell owned and managed a California communications firm. Multi-year clients included the Electric Power Research Institute, the R&D arm of the electric utility industry nationwide; the Personal Communications Industry Association; and regional organizations for healthcare service providers. Previously, she conceptualized and developed several business magazines in the telecom and television fields and served as a reporter for daily newspapers.

A Fellow of the Radio Club of America and a Founder of Executive Women in Wireless, Ms. Purcell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri.

Richard L. Purcell, Executive Director Show-Hide Text

An experienced print and electronic publishing executive, as well as a public relations and conference director, Mr. Purcell joined Coracle Group in 2007. He has operations, account, and event management responsibilities at the growing firm.

Mr. Purcell most recently served 12 years with Reed Business Information, a division of Reed Elsevier, and more recently Advantage Business Media. He served as General Manager of Electronic Media for the Telecom Group, which publishes business magazines including Wireless Week for wireless executives and CED for broadband professionals. Mr. Purcell launched and managed multiple Web sites, email newsletters, Webcasts, and digital versions of print publications. In 1996, he launched www.wirelessweek.com, which won an RBI Medal of Excellence Award for Best Online Content and became the industry's number one Web site in page view and unique visitor statistics. In 1997 he initiated the industry's first headline news to digital devices, news@2direct. Previously, Mr. Purcell served as Editorial and Conference Director of Convergence, one of the earliest B2B publications tracking the Internet and analyzing its relevance to the communications industries.

Prior to joining RBI, Mr. Purcell was Managing Editor of three communications and cable TV business magazines. He also served as Marketing Director of 10 tradeshows, including the International Wireless Communications Expo.

Earlier, Mr. Purcell was National Director of Public Relations for the 56-office CPA firm of Fox & Company, a predecessor to Grant Thornton. At that time, he was president of the Colorado Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. Mr. Purcell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and has completed graduate work in marketing.

Amy Damianakes, Partner Show-Hide Text

Throughout her 20-year career, Amy Damianakes has helped improve business performance through effective communication. She has successfully positioned, launched and promoted a wide array of companies, technologies, products and services including CDMA, CDPD, T1 multiplexers, network management services, location determination software, CRM software and numerous wireless voice and data offerings. In addition, Ms. Damianakes has coached dozens of senior executives to better handle demanding media, leadership communications and public speaking situations.

From startups to global giants, Ms. Damianakes has set and directed communications strategy for a variety of companies in the wireless, Internet, telecommunications, biotechnology and healthcare sectors. She has served as a national media spokesperson and held communications management positions at Coastcom, PacTel Spectrum Services, Pacific Telesis Group, AirTouch Communications and Vodafone AirTouch.

In 1999 Ms. Damianakes began consulting to help business leaders effectively tell their company story and navigate change. Her clients include inOvate Communications Group, inCode Telecom, INSolutions, SignalSoft, McKesson, Genentech, Gilead Sciences, Comergent, Pacific Gas and Electric, Polaris Wireless, Verizon Wireless and Vodafone. She provides strategic communications, public relations, spokesperson training, speech writing, brand building and leadership communications counsel.

Ms. Damianakes holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from the University of California.

Michael Creighton, Graphic and Web Designer Show-Hide Text

Mr. Creighton is an accomplished and experienced graphic and Web designer who has designed and developed dozens of Web sites for corporations and retailers. Previously, he served with several top advertising agencies, including TBWA/Chiat Day and the T&O Group, where he worked on projects for Auto-By-Tel, TDK Semiconductor, Sony Semiconductor, Wyle Electronics and Linear Tape Open (a venture of IBM, Seagate and Hewlett-Packard).

He is proficient in the following page coding: HTML/DHTML (hand coding), Dreamweaver, JavaScript, PHP, XML, mySQL, ASP, ASP.NET. He is also familiar with graphics/animation programs, including Photoshop, Illustrator, FreeHand, Flash and Director, as well as back-end IT requirements.

Mr. Creighton has completed a wide variety of effective corporate identity, marketing collateral and electronic media projects for Coracle Group clients. In addition, he has designed and built client Web sites (www.primecomms.com, www.wirelessworks.com and www.interoptechnologies.com). Further, he has extensive background with successful Web and graphic design projects for many businesses, associations and retailers.

An honors graduate of Pepperdine University, Mr. Creighton holds a Bachelor's degree in Advertising and Marketing.

Lisa Ackerman-Eppert, Project Manager Show-Hide Text

In healthcare and telecommunications, Lisa Eppert has excelled in delivering public relations results for 20 years. At Coracle Group, she manages media and analyst relations and is a key participant in all communications projects.

Trained as a journalist, Ms. Eppert worked in newsrooms in San Diego, Dublin and Mexico City, experiences that equipped her to work quickly and effectively with the media.

Prior to joining Coracle Group, she served five years as Public Relations Manager for AirTouch Cellular in San Diego. At AirTouch (later acquired by Vodafone), Ms. Eppert managed all media, government, community, internal, regulatory and crisis communications. One of her key achievements was a highly successful campaign for the first CDMA launch in Southern California. She also negotiated major sponsorships, created award-winning community events and worked with senior management on legal and regulatory issues. Ms. Eppert received a “Service Legend” award—the top corporate honor at AirTouch—for leadership and professionalism.

Earlier, she was Director of Communications/Resource Development for the American Lung Association of Orange County, planning and implementing communications and development activities. Previously, Ms. Eppert was Director of Communications and Development for the American Heart Association, Greater Long Beach Chapter, and served in Public Relations/Marketing for the Institute of Safety and Systems Management at the University of Southern California.

Ms. Eppert was graduated magna cum laude from USC. She holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Spanish.

Anne Harding, Director, Europe Show-Hide Text

Based in London, Anne Harding heads strategic and tactical communications efforts for Coracle Group in Europe. Since 1998, Ms. Harding has created and led European communications programs for clients including: CBL Data Recovery, Epicor Software, Esmertec, F5, Kodiak Networks, NetBotz, NetScout Systems, Net to Net Technologies, Overland Storage, Polaris Wireless, Purple Sun, Secure Computing and Teleware.

Ms. Harding develops and delivers localized programs tailored to the needs of European analysts, media and influencers. She is also well-versed in speaking and participation opportunities at European exhibitions and seminars.

Previously, Ms. Harding was Head of IT Public Relations at Smith and Jones Communications and Public Relations Manager at Frontline Distribution. Earlier she served for 18 years in communications roles with Boeing and General Electric, where she gained extensive pan-European experience.

She holds a Marketing Diploma.
